“Good bread is the most fundamentally satisfying of all foods; and good bread with fresh butter, the greatest of feasts.”

― James Beard

Making your own bread can seem daunting and intimidating, yet it really doesn’t have to be. When you have a busy lifestyle, as most of us do, it seems like an impossible endeavor to bake your own bread on a regular basis. Yet I can assure you that I have found a quick and easy way to make most breads for our family’s everyday consumption. If your family is like ours, you will love the taste so much and you may end up only reluctantly eating store-bought bread once you start making your own bread!

It is my goal to make baking your own bread as fun, as quick and as easy as possible for you so that you can easily integrate  “bread making” into your daily routine. Therefore, I will provide you with a selection of tried and tested recipes with very few steps and some clever shortcuts, in order for you to create the most delicious bread with a minimum level of work and effort.

The internet is full of beautiful and elaborate bread recipes and it feels exhausting just looking at them. It is not my goal to swamp you with information, quite the contrary. I simply want to share my secrets with you on how I manage to always have homemade bread in our fridge, without much effort. My recipes include lovely French breads, wholesome German breads, delicious Italian breads, but also great American breads like Burger Buns or Parker Rolls.

Furthermore, I am happy to share some of our favorite healthy and simple family recipes with you which go so well with the bread. Butter is indeed a nice accompaniment for fresh bread, but any simple meal, even just a soup, gets elevated to the next level with fresh bread. Just imagine the taste of a salmon burger (or hamburger) served on a homemade burger bun! Your family and friends will love you for it ;-).
